About the Artist
Rachael is a WA-based artist and enjoys dabbling in a variety of art forms including sketching, crochet, photography, sculpture and more. She is always eager to learn more and keep expanding her knowledge in the arts.
Being born into an arty family, Rachael began drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil, and has not stopped since. Her work focuses largely around themes of awe and wonder at God's creation and also around portraiture and therapeutic/mindfulness practices in art. She is very interested in the way that making things helps the brain to process situations, events, feelings and memories, and quite often incorporates this into her personal art practices, using her sketching and photography as a method for journaling.
Rachael has completed two undergraduate university degrees majoring in Visual Arts through ECU, has been selling her art since 2017 (previously as "RachaelKels Art", now as "The Yarned Inkwell"), and now teaches Visual Arts in secondary school from years 7 to 11. She enjoys sharing her passion for the arts and helping others to rekindle their creative spark and to realise that there is so much more to art than just sketching and painting.

Rates
Rates will vary according to the custom artwork or photography package you are requesting. Please note the rate estimates below are only estimates and can vary significantly based on design factors such as medium, product size and design complexity. These estimates do not include postage costs, as this will vary according to your design size and your location within Australia.
Please also note that I only ship items within Australia.
Photography
These price estimates include one framed A3 print of your choosing in the photography package.
Baby photography: $100 for a 45 minute session.
Couple and Engagement photography: $150 for a 45 minute session.
Pet photography: $150 for a 45 minute session.
Crochet
Crochet rate estimates vary considerably due to material options, complexity of design and the size of the item. You can expect a price between $20-$100 + postage.
Artwork
Artwork commissions vary considerably based on medium choice (ie - ink, watercolour paints, acrylic paints, gouache paint, charcoal, etc), tools, size, and design idea. Artwork prices vary from $40-$200 + postage.
Custom services
I also take custom orders in other art mediums (ie - paper craft, wire sculptures, felting, etc), and a price estimate for these types of projects will be discussed directly with you according to your design ideas.
